About the Design Team
W. A. Studios is a New York based design collective headed by Lois O'Dea Glaser with over thirty years experience in the fashion industry. Born in Western Australia, from whence the company derives its name, Lois moved to America at the age of twenty-five.
Settling in New York City she launched her own apparel company, Aussi, with her brother Gregory, a designer in his own right having worked with Calvin Klein. Lois’ creations were often featured in such magazines as Women’s Wear Daily.
In the spring of 2004 she introduced her own fashion jewelry company W / A Studios. Rather than choosing to feature her own name, Lois decided to emphasize the team spirit of camaraderie believing that a variety of input from a carefully selected group of artisans would foster a more exciting tapestry of ideas and concepts.
All of her jewelry is designed in the U.S. using her own models, even creating her own chain links and plating finishes and colors. Featuring richly textured bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings, many of our pieces are enhanced by glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals and many other attractive elements. Always coming up with innovative ideas and unique concepts, she likes to surprise people with her “unpredictable elegance”
W / A now has over 500 retail locations worldwide including stores in Europe, Japan and South America. In the U.S. clients include Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor as well as countless specialty stores, elegant catalogs and fine boutiques nationwide.
Lois now resides in New York where she can more easily observe and interpret the latest fashion trends, bringing her fabulous styles to market at extremely affordable prices.
